Static-X will play at Dürer Kert on July 29!
The American industrial metal band, which started 30 years ago and reunited in 2018, is coming to Budapest with the Project Regeneration albums, accompanied by fellow American band Dope.
Static-X is bringing their latest album and the surviving members of the legendary Wisconsin Death Trip lineup to Budapest: Tony Campos, Koichi Fukuda, and Ken Jay, along with current vocalist/guitarist Xer0, who will be touring Europe this summer. Fans can expect an extra spectacular and wicked industrial disco night.
2024 was a milestone in the resurgence of Static-X, which began in 2018, thanks to the Project Regeneration: Vol. 2 album and the tour with Sevendust. The new record was included in Loudwire’s “51 Best Rock and Metal Albums of 2024”. This album is a continuation of 2020’s Vol. 1 and features all the remaining recordings left behind by Wayne Static, who passed away in 2014. The new album was produced by Xer0, with mixing and mastering by Ulrich Wild.
Static-X is one of the defining bands of the late ’90s industrial/nu-metal scene, founded in 1994 in Los Angeles by vocalist/guitarist Wayne Static and drummer Ken Jay. The lineup was completed by Tony Campos on bass and Koichi Fukuda on guitar/programming. They rose to fame in 1999 with the now platinum-status album Wisconsin Death Trip, followed by five more albums over the next decade: Machine (2001), Shadow Zone (2003), Start A War (2005), Cannibal (2007), and Cult Of Static (2009), selling a total of 3 million copies.
In 2012, the band went on hiatus to pursue other creative projects, and on November 1, 2014, Wayne Static unexpectedly passed away.
In 2018, they announced their reunion to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album. Original members Tony Campos, Koichi Fukuda, and Ken Jay were joined by Xer0 as the vocalist, and the tour was a massive success with sold-out shows worldwide, proving the unwavering loyalty of Static-X fans.
